Cytokinetics Reports Positive Phase I Data for Trial of CK-2017357

Cytokinetics Inc., of South San Francisco, reported positive data from part B of its Phase I trial of CK-2017357 in healthy volunteers, showing that the drug produced concentration-dependent, statistically significant increases vs. placebo in the force developed by the tibialis anterior, the muscle evaluated in the trial. Part B of the study was designed to assess the pharmacodynamic effects of the drug on skeletal muscle function. The doses administered also were well tolerated. CK-2017357 is a fast skeletal muscle troponin activator.
